Today in my life: Jonah

When you’re thinking about society and how inhumane we are, and you say sorry to God because if it’s hurting you, imagine Him..

And he has you read the story of Jonah…

Testing: Do not disturb

2015/01/img_1787.gif

I’m currently being tested, of my faith & loyalty. It’s a tough time because it’s time to show God what I’m made of, that I can truly apply all that I know to my life.
I almost fell for all the traps many times these past few weeks, there is sooo much noise from everywhere! Which causes me to be down and aggravated because I just want to get past this, it’s all too much. Everything around me is overwhelming me and stressing me out, but I know He wants me to find peace in Him. It’s not easy because that’s not what the flesh wants. We give into our feelings and end up getting caught up in them more than in God. That’s my biggest downfall.

🌻🌻

None of you can add any time to your life by worrying about it. And if you can’t do the little things, why worry about the big things? “Think about how the wildflowers grow. They don’t work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that even Solomon, the great and rich king, was not dressed as beautifully as one of these flowers. If God makes what grows in the field so beautiful, what do you think he will do for you? That’s just grass—one day it’s alive, and the next day someone throws it into a fire. But God cares enough to make it beautiful. Surely he will do much more for you. Your faith is so small! (‭Luke‬ ‭12‬:‭25-28‬ ERV)

🍃
Worry takes away your joy, but a kind word makes you happy. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭25‬ ERV)

Happy Wednesday🌿🌞

Reminder: proverbs 20:27

Your spirit is like a lamp to the Lord. He is able to see into your deepest parts. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭20‬:‭27‬ ERV)

Protect your spirit. Let the Holy Spirit guide you and your ways. Don’t let your sinful flesh take over you life & allow you to “dirty” your spirit, causing your spirit to be shaken. You can’t hide it from God.

Goodnight!

Reminder: Exodus 14:14

You will not have to do anything but stay calm. The Lord will do the fighting for you.

I’m currently reading Exodus because I decided I wanna read the book before seeing the movie (cliché, but good motivation to finally read the bible like I’ve been meaning to) and I ran into a little verse I love. It was sort of a reminder, something we need to remember in our daily lives when we run into things that seem out of our control. I’m currently very still and enjoying my journey in getting to know God and his word. So glad to be here! My favorite place so far. The peace & joy I’ve been experiencing is unexplainable. God is too good!

Have a great night guys! Don’t forget God in the midst of all the partying and planning for NYE.

quick reflection: hebrews 5:11

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/6b2/69643690/files/2014/12/img_0068.png

This was a reminder to myself. I stumbled across this and it was like “hey bella, wake up!” Lately I have “stopped trying to understand.” I’ve stopped trying to seek God as much as before, because the world has distracted me and I let it. We need to check ourselves daily, if you’re not focusing on God and checking your thoughts, you will easily move away. Everytime I feel far from God I always remember that quote:
if you’re far from God, who moved?

That’s such a slap in the face! I had no balance these past few weeks because my husband was visiting fam in the US and ended up staying much longer than expected. Of course, we were attacked from all directions because the enemy knows when we’re apart we both get weak. Thankfully he came home yesterday, on the 25th (best Christmas gift ever, God worked wonders for us) so now we will get back into routine and back to our normal ways.

The verse goes on to mention about the solid food and milk. I feel like I keep going back to both, because of the lack of discipline. We should all strive to eat the solid food, especially those who know the word and have the opportunity to go deeper in it. (Again, checking myself)

Well, it’s 10:30 am and I’m still in bed cause I took today off. My husband’s back and everything feels alright.

Have a greattt day & don’t forget: don’t move away from God!💙

The heart wants what it wants.

So this week I heard Selena Gomez’s new song “The heart wants what it wants.” If you’ve heard this song, you hear the lyrics and notice that she’s talking about her relationship (with Justin Bieber, in case you don’t follow yahoo news and etc.)

So I listened to it, and I just felt bad for her. Not for her relationship problems and whatnot, but for the lack of knowledge and shallowness. Even if it’s not her exact situation, I can guarantee you most people liked this song and loved the lyrics because they related to it. The lyrics turned me off because she just sounds so lost, BECAUSE her heart’s guiding her,but the title had me thinking: how many of us, the saved ones, still live by this and use this?

The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand

Jeremiah 17:9

I can end this post right here. This alone says a lot. It was the first verse that came to mind. This is a dangerous thing!

!!!! – Look at the synonyms!

We, as newborn Christians, need to be aware of these phrases and mottos we heard all of our lives. These phrases are so popular but so strong! When we say “the heart wants what it wants” we are inviting sin in. If I had gone with what my heart wanted, just on the past 3 years, I’d definitely NOT be here! My heart had led me so far in I didn’t even want to continue life with God, I just wanted to go with what I felt and live my life (Thank GOD for his grace!!)

This allows us to be guided by sin, by our flesh. You’re letting the devil use you. This is saying “my heart leads the way. I give in to my heart and feelings.” Feelings CANNOT guide us! (Again, I wouldn’t be here)

Are you at that point in your life where you KNOW who guides you? Are you fully aware of the influences you are letting in your heart & mind? Who’s guiding you: God, the creator, or your feelings, that misguide and lead you into the devil’s traps? Right now, what you want the most, is i coming from your heart(sinful nature) or from the Holy Spirit? Think about it and do a double check for your life right now.

Let’s be more aware! Like this quote, there are many many more thrown at us. Social medias, family members, friends, the sources are endless. Start taking this more seriously, and train yourself to see these things and know they are not true. Awareness is essencial in living life with God.

By the way, “do what makes you happy” is right next to “the heart wants what it wants.”

Have a great Thanksgiving guys!! Wish I was the states to celebrate it 😦 it’s been 3 years without it.
Hubby’s there, I’m jealous (Not my time God, I know. I just get so down)
